Fire and Rescue Service personnel are being offered free tram travel to allow them to pay their respects to a fellow firefighter who tragically lost his life in the line of duty last month in Edinburgh. Barry Martin was critically injured during a blaze at the Jenners building and died in hospital a few days later.<\/p>\n

A special service will be taking place at St Giles Cathedral on Friday 17th<\/sup> February and serving members of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service will be able to travel for free on the trams heading to and from the memorial service if they are wearing their uniform or show their staff ID.<\/p>\n Tom Neil, Edinburgh Trams\u2019 Head of Business and Finance Support, said: \u201cOffering free tram travel to Fire and Rescue Service personnel reflects the gratitude we all feel for our essential workers who risk their lives on a regular basis to protect us.
