{"id":48034,"date":"2023-01-13T18:00:46","date_gmt":"2023-01-13T18:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=48034"},"modified":"2023-01-08T10:37:03","modified_gmt":"2023-01-08T10:37:03","slug":"picture-in-time-south-yorkshire-supertram-02-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=48034","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: South Yorkshire Supertram 02"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As our collection of photos taken in 1995 in Sheffield continues as part of \u201cPicture in Time\u201d we take a look at the second lowest numbered tram in the fleet at a time when trams ran no further than Gleadless Town End.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>When Tony Sullivan visited Sheffield on 9<sup>th<\/sup> March 1995 not all of the Supertram network had opened with three more phases of the original system still to see their first public trams in operation. At this point the network consisted of the sections between Shalesmoor and Meadowhall and from the delta junction to Gleadless Townend with the lines to the outlying termini not following until later in the year. This meant that both Shalesmoor and Gleadless Townend were acting as temporary termini.<\/p>\n<p>In this first photo of <strong>02<\/strong> we see it as it runs along Ridgeway Road heading to Gleadless Townend.
