{"id":47965,"date":"2023-01-04T22:00:31","date_gmt":"2023-01-04T22:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=47965"},"modified":"2023-01-04T18:26:56","modified_gmt":"2023-01-04T18:26:56","slug":"in-pictures-wmm-48-enters-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=47965","title":{"rendered":"In Pictures: WMM 48 enters service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new year may only be a few days old but we already have our first new tram in service for 2023 \u2013 and it\u2019s the West Midlands Metro who have that honour with <strong>48<\/strong> being used for the first time on Wednesday 4<sup>th<\/sup> January. <strong>48<\/strong> was the last of the trams delivered to Wednesbury and its entry into service now means there are no new trams in the UK waiting for commissioning at the present time.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>48<\/strong> had been delivered to the West Midlands on 25<sup>th<\/sup> November 2022 and with it entering service on 4<sup>th<\/sup> January 2023 it becomes the quickest of the Urbos100 trams to start running so far. (Its been 41 days with the previous quickest being 52 days for <strong>46<\/strong>). When seen in service early morning \u2013 it had been one of the first trams out on the day \u2013 there were 1729km on the clock.<\/p>\n<p>The first day for <strong>48<\/strong> wasn\u2019t a long one though as it was taken out of service around lunchtime.
