{"id":47961,"date":"2023-01-06T18:00:02","date_gmt":"2023-01-06T18:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=47961"},"modified":"2023-01-03T19:42:05","modified_gmt":"2023-01-03T19:42:05","slug":"picture-in-time-south-yorkshire-supertram-01-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=47961","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: South Yorkshire Supertram 01"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Its been quite some time since we went into the modern tram archives as part of \u201cPicture in Time\u201d so we remedy that today as we start to take a look at a series of images taken in 1995 on the South Yorkshire Supertram system.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Over the next seven weeks or so we will be taking a look at some of the Siemens-Duewag built trams which have been the mainstay of the Supertram fleet ever since the first services started to run in 1994. 25 of the trams were built for Supertram and all were delivered in a plain two tone grey livery. To start with they had a simple two digit number (it wasn\u2019t until Stagecoach took control that the leading \u201c1\u201d was added to their numbers) which was displayed on the tram ends just below the original Supertram logo. All trams were also fitted with roller blinds as new.<\/p>\n<p>The below image was taken on 9<sup>th<\/sup> March 1995 and features the lowest numbered tram, <strong>01<\/strong>, as it passes the C&amp;A store with a service to Meadowhall.
