Its not unusual to see reindeer on UK tramways with both Edinburgh Trams and West Midlands Metro having previously named their trams for the festive season (plus antlers in Edinburgh!) but this time round it was Nottingham Express Transit who got the names out \u2013 and the trams also received antlers and noses, including a red nose for a certain Rudolph the red nosed reindeer!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As Santa had nine reindeer, nine trams were treated to the temporary change of identity (all being Alstom Citadis trams):<\/p>\n<p>216 \u2013 Donner<\/p>\n<p>221 \u2013 Cupid<\/p>\n<p>223 \u2013 Prancer<\/p>\n<p>225 \u2013 Dancer<\/p>\n<p>229 \u2013 Rudolph<\/p>\n<p>230 \u2013 Comet<\/p>\n<p>232 \u2013 Blitzen<\/p>\n<p>233 \u2013 Vixen<\/p>\n<p>234 \u2013 Dasher<\/p>\n<p>The nine all retained their usual names in addition to their reindeer names with new vinyls added on the silver section of the livery below the side cab windows.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_47917\" style=\"width: 423px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=47917\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-47917\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-47917\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-47917\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/1.225-jw-413x550.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"413\" height=\"550\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/1.225-jw-413x550.jpg 413w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/1.225-jw-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/1.225-jw.jpg 955w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 413px) 100vw, 413px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-47917\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">225 became Dancer and this view at Old Market Square shows the tram standing at the stop when running through to Hucknall.
