With the UK having been hit by a cold snap which has included some snowfall it was inevitable that it would get the photographers out in force \u2013 we all like to see photos with snow don\u2019t we! \u2013 and in this article we are off to Edinburgh for some images of trams in action following some light snowfall on 10th<\/sup> December 2022. Roy Calderwood braved the cold!<\/p>\n

We start off our journey into the snow at Edinburgh Park Central where 276 \u2013 with adverts for Parabola \u2013 calls on the way to St Andrew Square.<\/p><\/div>\n

Next stop for 264 is Gyle Centre as its just left Edinburgh Park Central with a service to the Airport. The tram is in its new advert for Jollyes.<\/p><\/div>\n

263 is seen moving away from the camera while citybound between Gyle Centre and Edinburgh Park Central. The square office building in the rear centre is called 1 New Park Square and is the first building in Parabola\u2019s development of the southern section of Edinburgh Park. Its located just beyond the Edinburgh Park Central tramstop.<\/p><\/div>\n

Some of the snow has already cleared from the road and paths as we see 272 crossing Lochside Avenue between Gyle Centre and Edinburgh Park Central. The tram has adverts for ESPC and is travelling towards the city.<\/p><\/div>\n

265 is running citybound between Gyle Centre and Edinburgh Park Central in this view. Its crossed South Gyle Broadway and will soon cross Lochside Avenue. The building on the left is Alexander Graham Bell House, BT\u2019s main Scottish office which opened in 1999.<\/p><\/div>\n

273 has just entered Gogar Depot from the direction of the Airport in this shot. The depot\u2019s located between Gogarburn and Edinburgh Gateway and the main tramway passes on the left of this shot. Just beyond the tram you can just make out the now rarely used staff halt (staff changeovers now take place at the new Edinburgh Gateway stop). The background shows the RBS bridge which gives access to their Gogarburn HQ from the A8 Glasgow Road. The bridge is located just beyond Gogarburn tramstop.<\/p><\/div>\n

Another view of 273, this time after its reversed in the depot and is heading down one of the sidings to the depot door. Tramway control room windows are on the right behind the platform of the yellow cherrypicker. The pathway at the bottom of the picture leads under Myreton Drive Bridge to Edinburgh Gateway station and at the top end of the path is the single storey \u201cThe Academy\u201d, a staff training facility.<\/p><\/div>\n

Running towards the city is 260 which has just left Balgreen and is climbing to cross over the bridge at Balgreen Road. Next stop will be Murrayfield Stadium \u2013 you can just about make the stadium out through the gloom.
