And what\u2019s more they will be free with no need to purchase tickets between midnight and 0500 on Sunday 1<sup>st<\/sup> January 2023.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Trams will run every 15 minutes with the first departure from Edinburgh Airport at 0007 and from West End at 0010. The last free tram from Edinburgh Airport (a rare opportunity not to have to pay the higher rate to get to the Airport!) will be at 0452 and West End at 0525.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll notice that trams will only run between West End and the Airport instead of through to St Andrew Square. As usual on Hogmanay, Princes Street will be closed to traffic with the expected large crowds in the city centre and as a result no trams will run from West End to St Andrew Square from lunchtime on 30<sup>th<\/sup> December 2022 until 1000 on 1<sup>st<\/sup> January 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Lea Harrison, Edinburgh Trams Managing Director, said: \u201cWith a series of world-famous acts in pop music leading the celebrations, we expect this to be one of the biggest Hogmanay nights ever, especially as in recent years they have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Now this historic event is back bigger and better than ever, and we want to make sure it\u2019s as easy as possible for people to get around the city, whatever time they decide to call it a night!
