Major track replacement works will take place in central Croydon over two phases during the second half of August which will see changes to services with the New Addington-Wimbledon service cut in two and during the second phase trams around the central Croydon loop being terminated at East Croydon.<\/p>\n

Phase one takes place between Monday 19 and Saturday 24 August and sees trams from Wimbledon terminating at Wandle Park. Passengers for central Croydon have been advised that although there is pedestrian access to the town centre from this stop that less mobile passengers may find it easier to use a special bus shuttle service from Ampere Way to Reeves Corner. All trams from Elmers End, Beckenham Junction and New Addington will run around the central Croydon loop. As is usual when access from the east of the network to the depot is unavailable the Elmers End branch will not see a service during early mornings, evenings and all day Sunday with spare trams stabled there.<\/p>\n
The second phase is between Sunday 25th and Wednesday 28th August and will see trams from Wimbledon extended through to Reeves Corner. Trams from Elmers End, Beckenham Junction and New Addington will be terminated at East Croydon with stops at George Street, Church Street, Centrale, West Croydon and Wellesley Road closed.
