{"id":47528,"date":"2022-12-12T20:00:11","date_gmt":"2022-12-12T20:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=47528"},"modified":"2022-12-12T13:27:19","modified_gmt":"2022-12-12T13:27:19","slug":"west-midlands-metro-27-departs-wednesbury-depot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=47528","title":{"rendered":"West Midlands Metro 27 departs Wednesbury Depot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an unexpected development another of West Midlands Metro\u2019s Urbos3 trams has left Wednesbury Depot. <strong>27<\/strong> \u2013 which is one of the trams which hasn\u2019t returned to service since the line reopened in June \u2013 had been noted outside the depot during the week before it was loaded and left on Friday 9<sup>th<\/sup> December.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The destination of <strong>27<\/strong> isn\u2019t known but presumably it hasn\u2019t gone to the Very Light Rail Innovation Centre at Dudley as it is thought the limit of capacity there is for two trams \u2013 with <strong>17<\/strong> and <strong>26<\/strong> having gone there in October. That leaves Wolverton Works as the most likely destination; <strong>28<\/strong> had previously gone there for repairs back in the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the departure of <strong>27<\/strong> there hasn\u2019t been a huge amount to report on the tram front recently. No more trams seem to have entered service whilst the addition of more blue vinyls to those which have been repaired hasn\u2019t seen any more join the ranks either. At least <strong>28<\/strong> and <strong>36<\/strong> have been continuing to operate with white panels still evident.<\/p>\n<p>Services on the network have continued to be delayed over the past week. There seem to be a number of speed restrictions at various points on the line, which presumably will require some maintenance work before these can be cleared. <strong>37<\/strong> also failed whilst in service on Thursday 8<sup>th<\/sup> December which led to further delays and saw the tram stationary for around half an hour before it was returned to depot.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_47529\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=47529\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-47529\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-47529\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-47529\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/28-aw-550x407.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"407\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-47529\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">28 is seen here at The Crescent with its white panels still in evidence.
