Those two trams are 263 and 277 with the former welcoming a new advertiser to the trams whilst the highest numbered tram in the Edinburgh fleet has an identical advert to another tram in the city.

We’ll start off with 277 as that is a tram which has received an advert which can be seen on another tram in Edinburgh too. The tram is now advertising BT’s support for Scottish Rugby and is an identical design to that currently carried on 260. This advert replaces a previous design for Hard Rock Café which had been applied in July 2022. With the tram in Manchester which also advertised this also having been removed recently its likely that 262 (the second of the Hard Rock Café adverts in Edinburgh) will also be losing its ads shortly.

For 277 this is the fifth advert it has carried since being one of those to receive a design for C R Smith in September 2017. Since then its also advertised Parabola My Edinburgh Park and Edinburgh International Festival as well as the recently removed design for Hard Rock Café and now BT – Spirit of Scottish Rugby.

The second new advert can be seen on 263 – and replaces an ad for Spotify (which was the second of two adverts for that company which were carried earlier this year). The advert is an orange based design for Glenmorangie Whisky – a company now owned by LVMH, a French holding company specialising in luxury goods. As well as the above window adverts with an orange background there are full height adverts on the third and fifth sections which include an image of a bottle of whisky.

This is just the fourth advert for 263. It too started off its advertising life with one for C R Smith in August 2017 before it advertised American Express and then after over a two year break the recently removed vinyls for Spotify.

It’s a very wet St Andrew Square which is the location for these photos with this first image showing 263 shortly after arrival from the Airport.

One of the full height adverts on the tram.

A view of one end of 263 showing the simple advertising for Glenmorangie Whisky.
