The race is being run over a new route this year with the start close to Trafford Bar and the finish near Old Trafford tramstops.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>More than 15,000 runners are expected to take part in the half marathon with the starting point on Chester Road (near to Trafford Bar tramstop) and the finishing line on Talbot Road (close to Old Trafford tramstop).<\/p>\n<p>On a Sunday trams usually run every 12 minutes on the Altrincham line this frequency will be reduced to every 6 minutes as well as more doubles in operation.<\/p>\n<p>Sean Dyball, TfGM Head of Customer Experience, said: \u201cWe\u2019re wishing runners the best of luck for Sunday, and to help get runners and spectators to the event, we will be increasing capacity on Metrolink by running as many double trams as possible and adjusting frequencies on the day to provide the best service we can. To avoid congestion from the road closures and for a more enjoyable journey, consider jumping on the tram and using contactless\u00a0for a fast and efficient way to pay.
