Work resumed during the summer on the much delayed extension and now it seems that they are finally coming to an end.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll go straight in with a quote from a Midland Metro Alliance spokesperson: \u201cWe are currently completing finishing works for the Wolverhampton city centre metro extension, including public realm improvements such as resurfacing and signing and lining. This activity is expected to be completed during the next few weeks. This will be followed by testing and commissioning of the new extension ready to open to Wolverhampton Railway Station during the autumn.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The extension leaves the current line just before the Wolverhampton St George\u2019s terminus and then runs along Piper\u2019s Row to a new stop outside the Bus Station before it turns onto Railway Drive and then terminates outside the Railway Station.
