We return to July 1992 for this edition of \u201cPicture in Time\u201d as we look at another photo taken on the Seaton Tramway.<\/p>\n

If you compare this scene to today then you could be looking at and thinking \u201cwhere on earth is it\u201d! Looking for all money as if the tram is running through an overgrown wilderness of trees and grass this is actually approaching Seaton terminus with the old holiday camp on the right hand side and the car park behind the photographer. This is how it looked on 16th<\/sup> July 1992 \u2013 a far cry from what its like today, we\u2019ll let you decide what you think is better!<\/p>\n

The tram in this view is no. 12<\/strong> during its 1980-1999 open top double deck condition. Carrying a green and white livery the tram had started off life as a single decker when entering service at Eastbourne in 1966 but after a few years at Seaton in this condition it was decided to rebuild it with an open top significantly increasing its capacity. The tram would retain this style until 1999 when it was rebuilt with the iconic Feltham tram cab ends which is how it looks today.<\/p>\n
