Its all the little milestones in construction that will combine to one big milestone when its all finished and the latest to report is the erection of the first tramstop shelter on the Trams to Newhaven project. The shelter is going up at McDonald Road as work continues to progress at various worksites along the full length of the route.<\/p>\n

McDonald Road will be the second stop on the line from Edinburgh City Centre (but in effect it will be the first additional stop as Picardy Place will be a replacement for York Place) and like the majority of stops along the route (of which there will be eight) will feature an island platform in the middle of the road.<\/p>\n

The shelter being installed is of the same design as that seen on the first section of the tramway (Edinburgh City Centre to Edinburgh Airport) which provides limited protection from some of the more extreme weather occasionally seen in the Scottish capital.<\/p>\n
