Although this mean that no service could run from Derby Castle to Laxey (at times a shuttle did run Derby Castle-Groudle though), fortunately there were trams to the north of the blockage and so a normal timetable D has been able to operate.

Four motors and three trailers are “trapped” on the Laxey to Ramsey section. These are motors 1, 6, 7 and 9 along with trailers 37, 41 and 48. They continued to operate a service at the normal times from Laxey to Ramsey whilst repairs were completed on the overhead.

Repairs were completed on Monday 25th July with a full and normal service then able to resume along the entire MER route from Derby Castle to Ramsey. From the original incident it took only five days for repairs to be completed.

Its also been reported that four locals had been arrested in connection with the theft of the wire.

6 at Ramsey when operating the timetabled service.

6 at Laxey with Snaefell Mountain Railway 2 alongside.

With 1 trapped north of the blockage it was being used on the service as well.
