{"id":44854,"date":"2022-05-06T18:00:22","date_gmt":"2022-05-06T17:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=44854"},"modified":"2022-04-30T22:06:14","modified_gmt":"2022-04-30T21:06:14","slug":"picture-in-time-blackpool-western-train-frigate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=44854","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Blackpool Western Train &#038; Frigate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Its not really heading back into the archives very far for this edition of \u201cPicture in Time\u201d but it\u2019s a nice photo so any old excuse to show it!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In this below photo \u2013 which was taken on 26<sup>th<\/sup> August 2016 \u2013 we see two Blackpool\u2019s illuminated feature cars posing for photos on Fleetwood Esplanade during a special tour. The two trams need very little introduction but that\u2019s what we\u2019re here for so we\u2019ll give them one anyway! The tram on the left is the <strong>Western Train<\/strong> (numbered <strong>733<\/strong>+<strong>734<\/strong>) with the <strong>Frigate<\/strong>, <em>HMS Blackpool<\/em> (<strong>736<\/strong>) on the right.<\/p>\n<p>These two trams have carried the weight of illumination tours over the past decade or so with the Western Train always popular with visitors to the resort \u2013 who can resist a train with lots of colourful lights after all!
