The chosen three were two Leeds trams \u2013 <strong>345<\/strong> and <strong>399<\/strong> \u2013 along with <strong>Liverpool 869<\/strong> and judging by photos and footage on the Crich Tramway Village Facebook page there were a healthy number of visitors who had been starved of tram action in the Derbyshire countryside!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As we reported last week (see this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=44068\">article<\/a>) these three trams are due to be part of an operating fleet which should see at least 18 different passenger trams in action throughout the year. Later in the season this will see trams returning to service for the last in over 20 years (<strong>Newcastle 102<\/strong>) , 6 years (<strong>London Transport 1622<\/strong>) and 3 years (<strong>London United Tramways 159<\/strong>, <strong>Blackpool 166<\/strong> and <strong>Sheffield 510<\/strong>) with the remainder all having been used last season.<\/p>\n<p>After the first day of service further trams have carried their first passengers of the year with <strong>Leeds 180<\/strong> and <strong>Blackpool 167<\/strong> also having run in service. Sunday 13th March saw 180 run along with fellow Leeds car <strong>399<\/strong> and <strong>Liverpool 869<\/strong> with 167 then replacing <strong>869<\/strong> later in the day. Monday 14th March then saw <strong>167<\/strong>, <strong>399<\/strong> and <strong>869<\/strong> all run.<\/p>\n<p>Crich is in the Spring season now which sees it open Saturday to Thursday every week until Thursday 9<sup>th<\/sup> June and then from Sunday 12<sup>th<\/sup> June to Thursday 21<sup>st<\/sup> July. Its closed on Fridays except for Good Friday 15<sup>th<\/sup> April, 22<sup>nd<\/sup> April and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> June (Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday). Opening hours are 1000-1630 weekdays (last admission 1500) and 1000-1730 (last admission 1600) at weekends, the one exception to this pattern is Sunday 17<sup>th<\/sup> April when the museum is open until 1930 with last admissions at 1800. Crich is also closed on Saturday 11<sup>th<\/sup> June for the SIGNALS music festival.<\/p>\n<p>After 21st July and Crich moves into daily opening for the summer season before September sees it reverting to being closed on Fridays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday 12th March was the first operating day of the 2022 season at the Crich Tramway Village with a standard three tram service running.
