{"id":43898,"date":"2022-02-18T19:15:13","date_gmt":"2022-02-18T19:15:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=43898"},"modified":"2022-02-18T16:36:54","modified_gmt":"2022-02-18T16:36:54","slug":"storm-eunice-causes-disruption-for-blackpool-and-london-tramlink","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=43898","title":{"rendered":"Storm Eunice causes disruption for Blackpool and London Tramlink"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Storm Eunice \u2013 described as the worst storm to hit the UK in 30 years \u2013 has been making her presence felt on Friday 18<sup>th<\/sup> February but whilst there has been major disruption for various transport network, tramways across the country have, in the main, escaped the worst. That being said there have been issues on both the Blackpool Tramway and London Tramlink during today.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Blackpool Tramway<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All tram services were suspended from 1100 on Friday 18<sup>th<\/sup> February because of not only the strong winds but also the high tide. At the time of the original suspension it was hoped that they would be able to resume after 1400 but this was not possible and so the decision was made to keep the service suspended for the rest of the day.<\/p>\n<p>This included Heritage Tram Tours, with the Evening Tour which had been due to run with the <strong>Western Train<\/strong> as the kick-off of the Vintage Weekend also postponed.
