After a couple of months where performance on the Tyne and Wear Metro seemed to be a downward spiral there is a bit of good news to report as the four weeks over the Christmas and New Year period saw an increase, albeit not to the same levels as the previous year.<\/p>\n

This four week period is from 12th<\/sup> December 2021 until 8th<\/sup> January 2022. During that period of time 84% of trains were recorded as being on time (either within 3 minutes late or 30 seconds earlier than scheduled). This was a big increase from the previous four weeks when only 69% of trains were said to be on time.
