West Midlands Metro services will run between Bull Street and Library again by the end of January \u2013 which will be a full six months since passengers could last travel on that section. Or at least that\u2019s the hope as it is still dependent on tram availability.<\/p>\n

In the latest announcement West Midlands Metro have said: \u201cThe ongoing repairs to the West Midlands Metro tram fleet are progressing well and we expect to be able to\u00a0return regular services to Grand Central and the Library by January 30th<\/sup>.\u00a0This is dependent on tram availability.\u201d<\/p>\n Trams last ran to Library on 25th<\/sup> July after which the installation of the junction to the Eastside extension and track relaying on Corporation Street took place. Although this was finally completed in late October and test trams started on 28th<\/sup> October there had not been a resumption of services before it was announced on 13th<\/sup> November that there would be a complete suspension of the service because of the discovery of cracks on the trams.<\/p>\n Whilst services did resume on 15th<\/sup> December this was only between Wolverhampton St George\u2019s and Bull Street with the promise trams would get to Library as soon as possible. It now appears this time is upon us with a resumption due by 30th<\/sup> January \u2013 as long as there are enough trams.<\/p>\n Now we just need work to be completed on the remainder of the Westside extension and for trams to get to Edgbaston Village!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" It\u2019s the news we\u2019ve been waiting for.
