Richard Anderson, tram driver for Edinburgh Trams, has been recognised for his outstanding customer service skills in the company\u2019s internal \u201cYou are Tramtastic\u201d award scheme. He was praised for helping a colleague deal with a group of youngsters who were behaving antisocially on a tram, remaining calm throughout and staying onboard until the youths dispersed.<\/p>\n

Edinburgh Trams\u2019 employee recognition scheme \u2013 \u201cYou Are Tramtastic\u201d \u2013 awards colleagues with a monthly prize with the annual winner being decided each year by the Edinburgh Trams Board of Directors.<\/p>\n
Lea Harrison, Managing Director of Edinburgh Trams, said: \u201cIt is important for us that we recognise our colleagues who demonstrate our core values throughout their work. All the \u2018Tramtastic\u2019 winners show how passionate we are about the vital role we play in the city\u2019s public transport system.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sue Bucher, Edinburgh Trams HR Manager, said: \u201cDespite the ongoing pandemic, we had fifty colleagues nominated for going that extra mile. Monthly nominations are judged by the management team and the trade union using the Edinburgh Trams\u2019 values of being Trusted, Innovative, Passionate and Smart.\u201d<\/p>\n
Richard himself commented: \u201cWhen you work with the public, you have to have patience, listen to your customers and, if you can empathise with them, that is great. The key is not to be judgemental but honest.\u201d<\/p>\n
