{"id":43018,"date":"2021-12-20T10:00:11","date_gmt":"2021-12-20T10:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=43018"},"modified":"2021-12-19T10:18:25","modified_gmt":"2021-12-19T10:18:25","slug":"15-years-apart-london-united-tramways-159","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=43018","title":{"rendered":"15 Years Apart: London United Tramways 159"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For our latest edition of \u201c15 Years Apart\u201d we return to the Crich Tramway Village and whereas many trams in this series its been a case of \u201cwhat change?!\u201d this time there is a massive difference!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This first image was taken on 11<sup>th<\/sup> June 2006 and shows <strong>London United Tramways 159<\/strong> in the Workshop at the Crich Tramway Village in the early stages of its major restoration to become part of the operational fleet. Work on the restoration had commenced during 2005 and it would be another six years before the tram would enter service for the first time thanks to the London County Council Tramways Trust sponsored restoration.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=43019\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-43019\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-43019\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/1.159-gp-365x550.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"365\" height=\"550\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/1.159-gp-365x550.jpg 365w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/1.159-gp-680x1024.jpg 680w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/1.159-gp-768x1156.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/1.159-gp.jpg 857w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 365px) 100vw, 365px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>18<sup>th<\/sup> September 2021 and we catch-up with <strong>159<\/strong> in the depot yard at Crich sitting basking in the sunlight.
