{"id":42330,"date":"2021-11-10T22:00:04","date_gmt":"2021-11-10T22:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=42330"},"modified":"2021-11-10T19:21:56","modified_gmt":"2021-11-10T19:21:56","slug":"in-pictures-the-next-urbos100-arrives-at-wednesbury","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=42330","title":{"rendered":"In Pictures: The next Urbos100 arrives at Wednesbury"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wednesday 10<sup>th<\/sup> November saw the eighth \u2013 and for now final \u2013 Urbos100 tram delivered to West Midlands Metro\u2019s Wednesbury Depot with <strong>45<\/strong> arriving on the back of a low loader at approximately 1120. The tram made the trip from CAF\u2019s plant in Zaragoza, Spain entering the UK at Bristol before making the final leg of its journey via road.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Although there are 21 Urbos100 trams on order from CAF the delivery schedule has always been due to be been split into two with eight due to arrive in 2021 \u2013 for the forthcoming extensions to Edgbaston Village and Wolverhampton Railway Station \u2013 and then the remaining 13 by 2023 (to cater for extensions including that to Brierley Hill).<\/p>\n<p>The trams which have been delivered before <strong>45<\/strong> arrived (<strong>38<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>44<\/strong>) have yet to enter service although they have started testing and commissioning (mostly out of core operating hours) in preparation for their first use. The first of this batch turned up on 28<sup>th<\/sup> April 2021 (<strong>39<\/strong>) with deliveries being made regularly over the last six and a bit months \u2013 the last arrival (<strong>44<\/strong>) was made on 6<sup>th<\/sup> October 2021.
