However, the process of fully commissioning the line and ensuring all drivers are signed off for the route has been continuing over the past week and a bit and as yet there has been no announcement of when a full service to Library will resume.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The pattern of driver familiarisation over the past few days has seen one tram allocated to run between Bull Street and Library (on its return it heads up to St Chads to use the crossover there before returning for another go on the newly laid track). Trams which have been used include <strong>36<\/strong> (1<sup>st<\/sup> November), <strong>23<\/strong> (3<sup>rd<\/sup> November), <strong>17<\/strong> (4<sup>th<\/sup> November) and <strong>32<\/strong> (5<sup>th<\/sup> November).<\/p>\n<p>A post on the West Midlands Metro website explains that there are \u201cfurther checks and tests we need to undertake. This is to ensure that we can run our service safely, and that our drivers are able to familiarise themselves with any changes to the previous layout\u201d. It goes on to say that they are doing this as quickly as possible and will be making further announcements as soon as they can.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_42287\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=42287\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-42287\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-42287\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-42287\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/1.barriers-aw-550x413.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"413\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-42287\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The only barriers now in situ in Birmingham City Centre surround the Eastside extension.
