{"id":42167,"date":"2021-11-05T18:00:32","date_gmt":"2021-11-05T18:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=42167"},"modified":"2021-10-30T13:59:53","modified_gmt":"2021-10-30T12:59:53","slug":"picture-in-time-manx-electric-railway-5-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=42167","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Manx Electric Railway 5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this edition of \u201cPicture in Time\u201d we take another trip across the Irish Sea to view a photo taken on the Manx Electric Railway.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Taken in mid-September 1990 this image was captured at Laxey Station where we can see the classic enclosed motor and open trailer combination. We can\u2019t fully identify the trailer but we can clearly see that the motor is 1894 built <strong>Tunnel Car 5<\/strong>. In fairly standard livery \u2013 with the Manx Electric Railway Co Ltd legend on the side \u2013 at this point in history <strong>5<\/strong> had its headlight repositioned higher than the traditional position (something since remedied).<\/p>\n<p>The pair will soon depart further north for Ramsey \u2013 with a few passengers just visible in the motor waiting for the off.
