A public conversation \u2013 like a consultation but different! \u2013 into the plans for Greater Manchester\u2019s Bee Network which would see a fully integrated transport network in the region by 2024 (buses, trams, cycling and walking) with trains being included by 2030 has been launched by Andy Burnham, Greater Manchester Mayor to hear what matters to people for a transport network.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Utilising the Bee symbol the network aims to transform how people travel in Greater Manchester with seamless end-to-end journeys with the branding intended as a trusted guarantee of a good service. The Bee Network is planned to be a London style transport system joining together buses, trams, cycling and walking by 2024 with rail also included by 2030.<\/p>\n

Andy Burnham said: \u201cThe people of Greater Manchester deserve a\u00a0world-class transport network where you can seamlessly travel across\u00a0the\u00a0city-region on buses, trams and trains – without spending a fortune each time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe\u00a0decision to\u00a0franchise GM buses and bring them under local control\u00a0was the first major\u00a0milestone\u00a0in building\u00a0the Bee Network.\u00a0It\u00a0means that decisions can be made at a local level for the benefit of our passengers\u00a0and ultimately\u00a0improve\u00a0the lives of Greater Manchester\u2019s diverse communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why we\u2019re\u00a0now\u00a0asking for\u00a0people\u2019s\u00a0input on this\u00a0key\u00a0conversation about\u00a0active travel and\u00a0public\u00a0transport\u00a0across the city-region in the coming weeks.\u00a0We want to know what people need and expect from the Bee Network and I urge as many people as possible to\u00a0get\u00a0involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Bee Network will be accessible, affordable and easy to use with a daily fare cap and single multi-modal ticket available.<\/p>\n

The Destination: Bee Network Conversation has now launched with people able to get involved by either completing an online survey before 12 November 2021, visiting the Destination: Bee Network bus on its tour of Greater Manchester or heading to https:\/\/tfgm.com\/destination-bee-network<\/a> where there are more details (including the aforementioned survey and dates of when and where the bus will be).<\/p>\n

Included in the conversation will be considerations on whether bikes and dogs should be allowed on Metrolink along with Bee Network values and customer standards. This will be your chance to input to the new network which is hoped to revolutionise transport in Greater Manchester.<\/p>\n

And to publicise the conversation some Manchester Metrolink trams have received special Bee Network vinyls. At least 3062<\/strong> and 3089<\/strong> have received these so far.<\/p>\n
