The event takes place from Monday 11<sup>th<\/sup> October to Friday 15<sup>th<\/sup> October and is a festival of digital, technology and innovation.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Chris Holmes, Transport Programme Director at WM5G, said: \u201cAs we move into an era filled with opportunities presented by digital technologies, we want to make a difference and develop longer-term solutions that have an impact within the transport industry. 5G allows us to ensure the West Midlands is accessible to residents, visitors, and businesses as they establish themselves within the region. We look forward to meeting organisations at Birmingham Tech Week and sharing our knowledge gained through transport trials to support Birmingham in becoming a Smart City, equipped to tackle the challenges of the future through the integration of low carbon technology.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WM5G have put transport connectivity at the top of their delivery strategy and working alongside partners including mobile network operators, broadcasters, public transport operators they have been working on way to implement 5G across the sector.<\/p>\n<p>They developed the UK\u2019s first 5G connected tram in partnership with West Midlands Metro, Transport for West Midlands, GoMedia and Icomera.
