As was mentioned in the recent article on the Greater Manchester Combined Authority Transport Committee report this summer will see a number of closures on the Metrolink network to allow for maintenance works to take place. Starting off at the start of July on the Rochdale line more major works will also be taking place on the Eccles line, at Victoria and through Manchester City Centre as well.<\/p>\n

The works currently scheduled are:<\/p>\n
Sunday 4th<\/sup> July \u2013 Rochdale line<\/strong><\/p>\n No trams between Freehold and Rochdale Town Centre<\/p>\n Monday 19th<\/sup> to Saturday 31st<\/sup> July \u2013 Eccles line<\/strong><\/p>\n No trams between Eccles and Piccadilly<\/p>\n Saturday 31st<\/sup> July \u2013 no trams in Manchester City Centre<\/strong><\/p>\n There will no trams through the city centre with services turning short as follows:<\/p>\n East Didsbury to Deansgate-Castlefield<\/p>\n Manchester Airport to Deansgate-Castlefield<\/p>\n Altrincham to Deansgate-Castlefield<\/p>\n Trafford Centre to Cornbrook<\/p>\n Ashton to Piccadilly<\/p>\n Rochdale to Monsall<\/p>\n Bury to Abraham Moss<\/p>\n There remain no trams on the Eccles line<\/p>\n Sunday 1st<\/sup> to Thursday 5th<\/sup> August \u2013 no trams between Piccadilly and Victoria<\/strong><\/p>\n As with the previous day services will be turning short although to a slightly different pattern:<\/p>\n East Didsbury to Deansgate-Castlefield<\/p>\n Manchester Airport to Cornbrook<\/p>\n Altrincham to Deansgate-Castlefield<\/p>\n Trafford Centre to Wharfside<\/p>\n Ashton to Piccadilly<\/p>\n Eccles to Deansgate-Castlefield<\/p>\n Rochdale to Monsall<\/p>\n Bury to Abraham Moss<\/p>\n Friday 6th<\/sup> to Sunday 8th<\/sup> August \u2013 no services through Victoria<\/strong><\/p>\n The following revised service pattern will operate:<\/p>\n East Didsbury to Exchange Square<\/p>\n Manchester Airport to Cornbrook<\/p>\n Altrincham to Piccadilly<\/p>\n Trafford Centre to Wharfside<\/p>\n Eccles to Ashton<\/p>\n Rochdale to Monsall<\/p>\n Bury to Abraham Moss<\/p>\n Sunday 14th<\/sup> to Sunday 15th<\/sup> August \u2013 City Centre and Ashton line<\/strong><\/p>\n Further work in the city centre and on the Ashton line. The following service will operate:<\/p>\n East Didsbury to Deansgate-Castlefield<\/p>\n Manchester Airport to Cornbrook<\/p>\n Altrincham to Deansgate-Castlefield<\/p>\n Trafford Centre to Wharfside<\/p>\n Eccles to Deansgate-Castlefield<\/p>\n Rochdale to Monsall<\/p>\n Bury to Abraham Moss<\/p>\n No trams on the Ashton line<\/p>\n In addition from Wednesday 23rd<\/sup> June there have been platform changes at Victoria.<\/p>\n In all the above cases there will be replacement buses operating in the affected areas with more details on these to be confirmed on the TfGM website beforehand.<\/p>\n Stephen Rhodes, TfGM Customer Director, said: \u201cWe and our partners are investing in our roads and public transport infrastructure to ensure its continued safe, reliable and efficient operation. There is never a good time to close a road, stop or station, but the works taking place across the summer have been coordinated and timed to ensure the least amount of disruption.
