{"id":40060,"date":"2021-06-20T11:00:17","date_gmt":"2021-06-20T10:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=40060"},"modified":"2021-06-19T13:45:44","modified_gmt":"2021-06-19T12:45:44","slug":"lockdown-walks-manchester-metrolink-30183112","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=40060","title":{"rendered":"Lockdown Walks: Manchester Metrolink 3018+3112"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Manchester is the location for this edition of \u201cLockdown Walks\u201d as we head out to the Eccles line.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Manchester Metrolink\u2019s Eccles line finally introduced the first significant sections of street tram running on the network with the lines open before then mainly consisting of converted railway lines except for small sections within Manchester City Centre. And with the Eccles line opening in two stages it wasn\u2019t to be until 21<sup>st<\/sup> July 2000 that those street running sections would really come to the fore with the line between Broadway and Eccles officially opening.
