{"id":39714,"date":"2021-05-30T11:00:21","date_gmt":"2021-05-30T10:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=39714"},"modified":"2021-05-29T15:22:37","modified_gmt":"2021-05-29T14:22:37","slug":"lockdown-walks-manchester-metrolink-3094","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=39714","title":{"rendered":"Lockdown Walks; Manchester Metrolink 3094"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re out and about again as this time we head out onto the newest tram extension in the UK \u2013 Manchester Metrolink\u2019s Trafford Park line.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As timings of opening tramway extensions go \u2013 extensions which serve a major shopping centre no less! \u2013 the Trafford Park line would probably go down in history as probably not the best! Officially opening on 22<sup>nd<\/sup> March 2020 just as the first big restrictions were being introduced in the country the line leaves the Eccles line at Pomona and runs for 3.4 miles to The Trafford Centre. Not only does it serve the big shopping centre but it also gives good access to Manchester United\u2019s Old Trafford football ground and the Imperial War Museum North \u2013 all of which have had large periods where they have been completely closed so not exactly adding to passenger numbers for the line!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_39715\" style=\"width: 425px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=39715\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-39715\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-39715\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-39715\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3094-km-415x550.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"415\" height=\"550\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3094-km-415x550.jpg 415w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3094-km-772x1024.jpg 772w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3094-km-768x1018.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3094-km.jpg 973w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 415px) 100vw, 415px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-39715\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">This is 3094 which is heading a The Trafford Centre (following the change of ownership of the shopping centre the \u201cintu\u201d has been replaced by \u201cThe\u201d in all literature) to Cornbrook service. It is running on Trafford Wharf Road and is close to the Imperial War Musuem North stop.
