{"id":39316,"date":"2021-05-07T18:00:25","date_gmt":"2021-05-07T17:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=39316"},"modified":"2021-05-01T15:11:29","modified_gmt":"2021-05-01T14:11:29","slug":"picture-in-time-graz-225","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=39316","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Graz 225"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week\u2019s \u201cPicture in Time\u201d saw us feature a tram which has made its way to Summerlee and so we do the same this time out as we feature a tram which was once part of the fleet there but has now found a new home on the South Coast.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This is 1949 built <strong>Graz 225<\/strong> which first arrived at Summerlee in 1989 and was one of the early operating trams at the museum. But when the museum closed for renovation in 2006 it was withdrawn from service and was eventually sold on to the Brighton Tram 53 Group who intended to use parts from the tram in the restoration of their tram.<\/p>\n<p>In this photo we see <strong>225<\/strong> in late November 2008 \u2013 with a light dusting of snow on the ground \u2013 by which time the tram was out of service and stored in the open.
