{"id":38913,"date":"2021-04-01T22:00:19","date_gmt":"2021-04-01T21:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=38913"},"modified":"2021-04-01T20:47:03","modified_gmt":"2021-04-01T19:47:03","slug":"warrington-28s-truck-returns-to-birkenhead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=38913","title":{"rendered":"Warrington 28\u2019s truck returns to Birkenhead!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another big milestone in the restoration of <strong>Warrington 28<\/strong> to service on the Wirral Heritage Tramway has been reached with the return of a fully overhauled truck for the tram.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The restoration of <strong>Warrington 28<\/strong> has been ongoing at the Wirral Transport Museum for some time but excellent progress has continued to be made \u2013 when restrictions have allowed of course! \u2013 with the tram now really starting to look the part. The tram \u2013 which is really <strong>Warrington 2<\/strong> \u2013 is being restored as an open balcony car as this helps to add a different type of tram to the tramway fleet and is sure to be another pride of the fleet when its restoration is completed!<\/p>\n<p>The truck is a ex-Lisbon truck which has been regauged and overhauled by Alan Keef Ltd in Herefordshire over the past 18 months. With this work now completed, the truck was able to be delivered to Birkenhead on 1<sup>st<\/sup> April 2021.
