Have you ever been there sitting at home thinking I\u2019d really like to see watch some trams from comfort of my sofa? Well, if you have from Monday 5th<\/sup> April you\u2019ll be able to as the Seaton Tramway have partnered with established website Railcam to provide a webcam at Riverside Depot which will allow you to keep an eye on tram movements on the tramway, both of trams shunting at the depot as well as running past on the mainline. This is the first heritage tramway to be included on Railcam and will not only be on their website but also on the Seaton Tramway website.<\/p>\n

Many of you reading this article will already be familiar with Railcam but for those of you who aren\u2019t\u2026 Railcam operate a network of railway themed live streaming cameras having grown from a single camera in Preston to a globally accessed rail enthusiast hub with over 100 cameras both owned and maintained by Railcam along with guest cameras from around the world. Most of their cameras concentrate on the national railway network but there are also some on heritage railways and the addition of the Seaton Tramway marks their first foray into heritage tramways.<\/p>\n

The camera on the Seaton Tramway has been placed on the wall at Riverside Depot and will allow you to view the depot yard, the new Riverside Halt all against the backdrop of the Axe Valley. It is expected that there will be regular movements each day between 0900 and 1800 with the standard service seeing trams out on the line between 1000 and 1800 \u2013 there will also be the chance to see Works Car 02 at times between 0700 and 1500,<\/p>\n

Josh Castree, Marketing Manager and Project Officer at Seaton Tramway, said: \u201cWe are really excited to launch our first ever public webcam in partnership with RailCam. It is the perfect addition to our offer to make Seaton Tramway more accessible onsite and online. Overlooking the Depot yard and our new Riverside Halt with the backdrop of the beautiful Axe Valley, we know people will love getting a little more behind the scenes at Seaton Tramway\u201d<\/p>\n

The webcam will be able to be viewed either through the Railcam website at http:\/\/www.railcam.uk\/<\/a> or directly on the Seaton Tramway website at https:\/\/www.tram.co.uk\/webcam<\/a>. It will first go live on Monday 5th<\/sup> April with driver refreshment runs taking place ahead of the return of passenger services the following Monday, 12th<\/sup> April.<\/p>\n
