{"id":38676,"date":"2021-03-14T11:00:28","date_gmt":"2021-03-14T11:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=38676"},"modified":"2021-03-13T12:31:42","modified_gmt":"2021-03-13T12:31:42","slug":"lockdown-walks-stagecoach-supertram-120","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=38676","title":{"rendered":"Lockdown Walks: Stagecoach Supertram 120"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this latest \u201cLockdown Walks\u201d we head out into Sheffield as we take a look at probably the most popular of all the trams in the fleet, thanks in no small part to its special livery.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Up until 2010, Siemens-Duewag constructed tram <strong>120<\/strong> was just another one of the 25 strong class, although it had received a couple of advertising liveries during its operating career which got underway in 1994. But with the approaching 50<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the closure of Sheffield Corporation Tramways in 1960 all that was to change with <strong>120<\/strong> chosen to receive a special commemorative livery based on Sheffield Corporation colours of cream and blue. Originally envisaged as a short-term livery the tram was released into service without external fleet numbers but as time went on and the livery remained in place these returned.
