{"id":38417,"date":"2021-02-26T18:00:10","date_gmt":"2021-02-26T18:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=38417"},"modified":"2021-02-20T20:47:38","modified_gmt":"2021-02-20T20:47:38","slug":"picture-in-time-gateshead-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=38417","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Gateshead 10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are again taking a look at Beamish\u2019s Tramway for this edition of \u201cPicture in Time\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The first thing we notice about this image of <strong>Gateshead 10<\/strong> taken in the Town at Beamish on 22<sup>nd<\/sup> June 2009 is where it has stopped for passengers to alight and board \u2013 further round the curve on the clockwise circuit than we are used to (usual practice today sees the tram stop outside the large shelter adjacent to roughly where the photographer is stood).<\/p>\n<p><strong>10<\/strong> has been one of the mainstays of the tram fleet at Beamish although has been out of service since 2016 but is on the road to return with its extensive overhaul ongoing. The tram was transferred to the site at Beamish in 1973 and is currently in the guise of <strong>Grimsby &amp; Immingham 26<\/strong> (an identity it took upon withdrawal from Gateshead) having been repainted in 2012.
