It\u2019s been around two months since we last brought you a summary of the service being run on the tram and light rail systems of the British Isles \u2013 so its about time we gave a handy update all in one place. It continues to be an improved picture with all systems now running some sort of service with some now back to the basic pre-lockdown service.<\/p>\n

Blackpool Tramway<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Reduced timetable running until 29th August:<\/p>\n * Every 15 minutes between 0800 and 1900<\/p>\n * Every 20 minutes pre-0800 and post-1900 with first tram from Starr Gate at 0530 and last tram from Fleetwood Ferry at 2300 Monday-Friday. Slighter later start to services at weekends.<\/p>\n From 30th August:<\/p>\n * Before 0700: Every 20 minutes<\/p>\n * 0700 to 1800: Every 15 minutes<\/p>\n * 1800 to end of service (with later trams on Fridays and Saturdays): Every 10 minutes with additional trams running as required.<\/p>\n Some trams may show “Tram Full” if the on board crew believe capacity has been reached and passengers are asked to board the next available tram in those cases. Limited stop specials may also run to allow passengers at stops further along the line the chance to board a tram.<\/p>\n Docklands Light Railway<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Near normal service now running<\/p>\n Edinburgh Trams<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Trams are running every 7 minutes between 1200 and 1400 and every 15 minutes at other times of the day day, 7 days a week. Demand is being monitored daily and if required additional trams may run at other times.<\/p>\n London Tramlink<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Near normal service now running. Please note engineering works are taking place affecting services until the end of August.<\/p>\n Luas<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Normal service in operation.<\/p>\n Manchester Metrolink<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Monday to Friday: A 10 minute service is running on all lines between 0600 and 1900 then every 20 minutes until midnight.<\/p>\n Saturday: A 10 minute service is running on all lines from 0800 to 2000 and every 20 minutes until midnight.<\/p>\n Sunday: A 20 minute service on all lines from 0700 to 2300..<\/p>\n TfGM have also released a chart showing the quietest times<\/a> to travel on Metrolink.<\/p>\n Nottingham Express Transit<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n A normal service is now running Monday-Sunday.<\/p>\n Stagecoach Supertram<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Blue route:<\/p>\n Normal service frequency is now operating although due to rail replacement works trams are only running from Malin Bridge to Sheffield Station.<\/p>\n Purple route:<\/p>\n No service owing to the rail replacement works<\/p>\n Yellow route:<\/p>\n Normal service is now running with trams running between Middlewood and Meadowhall.<\/p>\n Tram-Train:<\/p>\n Monday to Sunday: two services an hour<\/p>\n Details of how busy trams are during the day are linked from this page<\/a> on the Supertram website<\/p>\n Tyne & Wear Metro<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Monday to Friday:<\/p>\n Normal service until 2000 and then every 30 minutes until end of service<\/p>\n Saturday:<\/p>\n Normal service<\/p>\n Sunday:<\/p>\n Normal service<\/p>\n West Midlands Metro<\/strong><\/p>\n Monday to Saturday:<\/p>\n Start of service to 0630 \u2013 every 15 minutes<\/p>\n 0630-2000 \u2013 every 12 minutes<\/p>\n 2000 to end of service \u2013 every 15 minutes<\/p>\n Sunday:<\/p>\n Every 15 minutes throughout the day<\/p>\n A \u201cheat map\u201d of when West Midlands Metro is quietest to travel on is available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Unless exempt face coverings are compulsory for travelling on all tram and light rail systems shown above. There are also a number of changes to operating practices at this time (including the automatic opening of doors at stops by the driver, enhanced cleaning regimes, advising people to purchase e-tickets or to use apps).
