{"id":35146,"date":"2020-08-10T18:00:08","date_gmt":"2020-08-10T17:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=35146"},"modified":"2020-08-10T16:39:18","modified_gmt":"2020-08-10T15:39:18","slug":"picture-in-time-blackpool-engineering-car-753-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=35146","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Blackpool Engineering Car 753"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We move forward to Centenary year on the Blackpool Tramway for this week\u2019s Blackpool \u201cPicture in Time\u201d image as we take a look at <strong>Engineering Car 753<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In this image we see <strong>753<\/strong> on Lytham Road during 1985 having just departed from depot for a trip out onto the mainline. The tower is covered by plastic sheeting but the tram can be seen as operating on electric power with one of its two trolleys raised against the wire. Of course, <strong>753<\/strong> was converted from <strong>Standard 143<\/strong> in 1958 and would continue to operate as an Engineering Car until a fire in 1990 saw that career come to an end.
