{"id":34320,"date":"2020-06-19T18:00:24","date_gmt":"2020-06-19T17:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=34320"},"modified":"2020-06-19T17:32:53","modified_gmt":"2020-06-19T16:32:53","slug":"picture-in-time-glasgow-1297-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=34320","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Glasgow 1297"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We return to the Glasgow Garden Festival again for this edition of \u201cPicture in Time\u201d with a home tram being featured \u2013 <strong>Glasgow 1297<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As with last week\u2019s tram (<strong>Edinburgh 35<\/strong>), the visit to the Glasgow Garden Festival was not the first time that <strong>Glasgow 1297<\/strong> had been loaned elsewhere for a period of operation as it too had spent time in Blackpool where it was one of the popular visiting trams for the Tramway Centenary in 1985. Following that event <strong>1297<\/strong> returned to Crich, where it had been since July 1963, but it was soon on the road again heading back to its home city in time for the 1988 Garden Festival where it once again proved to be a very popular operating exhibit.
