Unfortunately the local newspaper for Blackpool, <em>The Gazette<\/em>, have only just published a story about the heritage tram operation for this year \u2013 over a week after it started! But the story they have published does contain an interesting snippet \u2013 there is to be a special heritage tram week announced later this summer.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>No details are currently known when this week will be or whether it will be true heritage operations as per the Easter bank holiday weekend just gone or more in keeping with the use of the Modified Balloons in October 2012. Either way it is good to see that Blackpool Transport are still looking at extra heritage tram operations this year and hopefully this week would be as well supported as the Easter weekend seemingly was.<\/p>\n<p>The article also gives details of how many passengers have been carried on the main tramway since it opened last Easter with 3.7million passenger journeys recorded in 12 months.
