{"id":34233,"date":"2020-06-13T18:00:40","date_gmt":"2020-06-13T17:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=34233"},"modified":"2020-06-13T13:55:38","modified_gmt":"2020-06-13T12:55:38","slug":"around-the-world-in-trams-san-francisco-1015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=34233","title":{"rendered":"Around the World in Trams: San Francisco 1015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In this edition of \u201cAround the World in Trams\u201d we head back to San Francisco for another shot of a PCC in service on the \u201cF\u201d line.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Whereas the other PCCs we have featured over the past few weeks this time around we see a streetcar which was built new for San Francisco Municipal Railway rather been acquired at a later date specifically as a historic vehicle. Constructed by St Louis Car Company, <strong>1015<\/strong> was introduced into service in 1948 and would run on Muni\u2019s J, K, L, M and N lines until 1982 when it was removed from action but kept in store. It was then restored to service in time for the opening on the \u201cF\u201d line in 1995.<\/p>\n<p>In this below image we see <strong>1015<\/strong> carrying a \u201ctribute\u201d livery for Illinois Terminal Railroad, a system which at one time had eight PCCs with almost identical bodies to that of 1015 (albeit without the rear doors).
