{"id":33850,"date":"2020-05-23T18:00:38","date_gmt":"2020-05-23T17:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=33850"},"modified":"2020-05-23T16:14:22","modified_gmt":"2020-05-23T15:14:22","slug":"around-the-world-in-trams-wellington-47","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=33850","title":{"rendered":"Around the World in Trams: Wellington 47"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We feature a very special tram in today\u2019s edition of \u201cAround the World in Trams\u201d as we take a look at <strong>Wellington 47<\/strong>, which can also be found at Auckland\u2019s MOTAT.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Dating from 1906, <strong>47<\/strong> was built by Rouse, Black and Son of Wellington, being used in service on that city\u2019s tramway. It was one of six double deck bogie tramcars known as \u201cBig Ben\u201d which were introduced just two years after the tramway had been electrified. Trams would remain operating in Wellington until 1964.
