Now, here\u2019s the thing. We are all under restrictions as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic and even if we were able to get out and about all heritage tramways are currently closed and are likely to remain so for some considerable time. It\u2019s a Bank Holiday weekend and usually many of us would be enjoying the sunshine \u2013 which, of course, is shining this weekend when we can\u2019t go anywhere! \u2013 and trams so what to do? Have a tram event virtually \u2013 that\u2019s what!<\/p>\n
For those of you on Facebook, a new group has been set-up \u201cVirtual Tram Events\u201d where you can enjoy tram photos from a \u201cvirtual\u201d special event weekend in Blackpool. First taking place over the Easter weekend it proved popular enough to come back for this VE Day weekend, with a varied selection of trams \u201cin service\u201d this weekend \u2013 including many trams no longer serviceable or in some cases even in Blackpool any more. You can join \u201cVirtual Tram Events\u201d by following this link<\/a> to Facebook (free membership required).<\/p>\n British Trams Online<\/em> will also be getting in the act for the remainder of the weekend as over Saturday and Sunday we will be having coverage on Facebook. Following out usual \u201cLive from\u2026\u201d format \u201cNot Live from\u2026\u201d will feature photos from a previous May Day Bank Holiday weekend as they happened at a location to be revealed tomorrow (Saturday 9th May).
