{"id":32512,"date":"2020-02-12T22:00:43","date_gmt":"2020-02-12T22:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=32512"},"modified":"2020-02-12T19:00:52","modified_gmt":"2020-02-12T19:00:52","slug":"crich-and-vera-recognised-at-hra-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=32512","title":{"rendered":"Crich and VERA recognised at HRA Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The annual Heritage Railway Awards took place in Birmingham on Saturday 8th February and two systems we regularly features on these pages were recognised &#8211; both the Crich Tramway Village and the Volk&#8217;s Electric Railway Association. and amongst the nominees was the Crich Tramway Village, for their new Michael Holroyd Smith exhibition which opened during 2019.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Crich were nominated for their new Michael Holroyd Smith exhibition which opened during 2019 in the \u201cAward for an Outstanding Visitor Attraction\u201d category and on the night they were named as a runner-up. The Bala Lake Railway won for \u201cThe Heritage Centre\u201d with other nominees in the category being London Transport Museum for \u201cA year in excellence in promoting London\u2019s transport heritage\u201d and the Bluebell Railway for \u201cSteamworks\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Laura Waters, James Brett, Mike Crabtree and Geoffrey Claydon were on hand to collect the runners-up certificate.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Volk&#8217;s Electric Railway Association &#8211; a volunteer group who assist with the running of the VER in Brighton &#8211; received the &#8220;Large Groups Award&#8221;. This was in recognition for the excellent work they have achieved over the past few years.
