{"id":31697,"date":"2019-12-20T14:00:04","date_gmt":"2019-12-20T14:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=31697"},"modified":"2019-12-17T21:04:41","modified_gmt":"2019-12-17T21:04:41","slug":"they-ran-in-2019-blackpool-western-train","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=31697","title":{"rendered":"They Ran in 2019: Blackpool Western Train"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Its probably the most popular of Blackpool\u2019s illuminated feature cars and the <strong>Western Train<\/strong> is today\u2019s feature of \u201cThey Ran in 2019\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Since returning to service in 2009 after a Heritage Lottery Fund supported restoration, there haven\u2019t been many evenings during the illuminations that the <strong>Western Train<\/strong> hasn\u2019t been out and about carrying visitors along the route of the famous illuminations and with an overhaul set for this winter it will be doing so for many, many more years to come.<\/p>\n<p>In this first image we take a look at the <strong>Western Train<\/strong> as it passes Manchester Square with a southbound illumination tour on the evening of 27th September.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?attachment_id=31698\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-31698\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-31698\" title=\"1.733-gp\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/1.733-gp-550x366.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/1.733-gp-550x366.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/1.733-gp-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/1.733-gp.jpg 1296w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a>Then on the following evening we find the tram again (the world\u2019s first Tram-Train?!) having just passed through the stop at Bispham.
