{"id":31519,"date":"2019-12-11T20:00:33","date_gmt":"2019-12-11T20:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=31519"},"modified":"2019-12-11T19:03:18","modified_gmt":"2019-12-11T19:03:18","slug":"another-boat-set-for-a-return-to-the-tracks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=31519","title":{"rendered":"Another Boat set for a return to the tracks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You may recall back in September one of the photo line-ups on Blundell Street in Blackpool featured three trams which were set to head through the workshops for a rewire and return to the tracks \u2013 <strong>Boat 230<\/strong>, <strong>Brush 634<\/strong> and <strong>Twin Car 675+685<\/strong>. It has now been revealed that the Boat Car has been moved into the workshops for a start to be made on this work in order for it to return to action \u2013 the first time since it was withdrawn in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->In the wake of the fire on <strong>Twin Car 272+T2<\/strong>, a number of trams were taken out of use requiring a rewire and this included two Boats Cars, <strong>227<\/strong> and <strong>230<\/strong>. Whilst <strong>227<\/strong> was returned to service after work in 2018, <strong>230<\/strong> remained out of action but the recent appointment of new staff in the workshop has now allowed work to commence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>230<\/strong> \u2013 named George Formby \u2013 will have a full rewire and will also have limited interior attention.
