The Phoenix Park Park and Ride site has become the latest site on Nottingham Express\u00a0 Transit to receive a prestigious safety mark \u2013 the fourth such site on the network to have received it. The award in question is the Park Mark\u00ae Safer Parking Award and is part of an initiative developed by the Association of Chief Police Officers and the British Parking Association.<\/p>\n

The measures which have helped Phoenix Park to gain the award include CCTV cameras, improved lighting and regular patrols by NET staff. Phoenix Park joins over 4,000 car\u00a0 parks across the country including NET\u2019s own sites at Wilkinson Street, Hucknall and Moor Bridge.<\/p>\n
Steve Guthrie, NET\u2019s Safety and Standards Manager, said: \u201cWe have put in place a series of measures to help deter criminal activity and anti-social behaviour and the award recognises we are doing everything we can to prevent crime whilst also reducing the fear of\u00a0crime. To achieve the award, sites are subject to a thorough risk assessment. The latest police figures clearly demonstrate that our continuous efforts to make our facilities safe for visitors are having an impact. However, we will not become complacent.
