{"id":30236,"date":"2019-10-03T18:00:34","date_gmt":"2019-10-03T17:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=30236"},"modified":"2019-10-03T15:19:58","modified_gmt":"2019-10-03T14:19:58","slug":"picture-in-time-glasgow-1297","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=30236","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Glasgow 1297"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We carry on taking a look at Crich\u2019s 1973 Transport Extravaganza for this week\u2019s Picture in Time with <strong>Glasgow 1297<\/strong> the tram seen in the picture.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->We saw <strong>1297<\/strong> a couple of weeks ago in this series when it was pictured alongside fellow Glasgow car <strong>1100<\/strong> but this time it is all alone as it stands at Stephenson Place. This view is very recognisable today as although there has been some development in the vicinity many of the original quarry buildings remain in situ today. As for the tram, at the time of this picture it had been running at Crich for around four years having entered service in the last year of the 1960s. It would remain operational for 20 years \u2013 which included spells in both Blackpool and at the Glasgow Garden Festival \u2013 before being taken out of service requiring further workshop attention.
