There were delays for Manchester Metrolink during the afternoon rush hour on Friday 26th July after a tram failed at Deansgate-Castlefield. The problem was down to an issue with the \u201cpantograph connecting to the overhead line\u201d which meant no trams were able to run through Deansgate-Castlefield whilst this was fixed. All trams from Eccles, East Didsbury, Manchester Airport and Altrincham were terminated at Cornbrook during the disruption.
