{"id":28085,"date":"2019-06-14T18:00:40","date_gmt":"2019-06-14T17:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=28085"},"modified":"2019-06-14T17:51:58","modified_gmt":"2019-06-14T16:51:58","slug":"luas-launch-new-safety-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=28085","title":{"rendered":"Luas launch new safety campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2019 marks the fifteenth anniversary of Dublin\u2019s Luas light rail system \u2013 with service starting on the last day of June 2004 \u2013 and despite the fact that other road users should by now be used to the trams running there are still many collisions and near misses with not only vehicles but also pedestrians. To try and improve this situation Luas have launched a new safety campaign warning motorists, pedestrians and cyclists that \u201conly seconds could change their life\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->As part of the campaign Luas have released a new video (available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ig_PW_-y5SU\">YouTube<\/a>) which shows some of the terrifying near misses experienced on the network in recent times.
