Over the past few years one event which has become more and more popular at the Crich Tramway Village has been Beside the Seaside. Taking place over nine days with extra attractions such as a Fun Fair and seaside entertainment it is the perfect event for all the family as the seaside comes to somewhere which is almost as far way from the sea as you could get in the British Isles! 2019 was no different with a selection of trams running on each day of the event. Trevor Hall paid a visit on Saturday 1st June.<\/p>\n

On this day four trams were selected for service and as is usually the case with the seaside event Blackpool played a strong part with three of the cars from that system. Standard 40<\/strong>, Toastrack 166<\/strong> and Boat 236<\/strong> all ran along with London County Council 106<\/strong> (not a seaside tram but the type of tram you would like to go for a ride on a good day at the seaside!).<\/p>\n

236<\/strong> returned to service for the first time in 2019 during the event and fellow Blackpool car, Jubilee 762<\/strong>, has also now been used this year. All in all this means 17 electric trams have seen passengers so far this year (that\u2019s if I can count!)<\/p>\n

With Berlin 223 006-4 on standby for possible use in its usual position at Town End Blackpool 166 is seen alongside.<\/p><\/div>\n
